A Podcast for True Crime Fanatics

Ellie Curtis

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love a good podcast. They’re really great. Anyone can find a podcast to enjoy. So many people are making podcasts about any topic imaginable it’s hard not to find a good one.

True crime is also not everyones cup of tea. But, if you’re looking for your next true crime story to learn about, or just another podcast, I’d recommend Crime Junkie.

Crime Junkie was the first podcast I’d ever listened to. As someone who likes to learn about true crime stories and unsolved cases, I was instantly intrigued by the podcast.

The two hosts, Ashley and Brit are both Indiana natives, who not only tell their audiences stories about crime around the world, but also touch on their hometowns in Indiana. As someone from Indiana, this was one of the things that intrigued me most about the podcast.

Often, they cover stories from around the world and The United States. However, some of the most interesting episodes (to me) are ones that highlight stories from Indiana. Stories from Lakeville, Fort Wayne, and even South Bend have premiered on the show. Their highlight on true crime history in Indiana drew me in quickly.

Besides covering stories from Indiana, the hosts go into depth about some of the most infamous true crime cases of all time. Covering cases that take place in Utah, to the Bahamas, to right in our own backyard in South Bend Indiana, the hosts really take the time to investigate and learn as much as they can about each case to educate their audiences. The effort they put into being able to tell audiences about these cases really shows in their episodes, as they dissect different cases, witness stories, and even include evidence from the crime scene in their podcasts. In a few I have listened to, they include snippets of audio media evidence in their podcast. From Phone calls, to emails and text messages, to court hearing recordings, they gather evidence their audience wants to hear.

So, if you’re like one of the millions of people who can’t get enough of true crime stories or just want a new podcast to listen to, try Crime Junkie. You can find them on almost all streaming platforms, or go to their website to check out the details.
