Senior Spotlight: Emma Mandell

Shea Anderson

Emma Mandell is a senior and student athlete at Saint Joe High. Emma is very involved in athletics and school spirit all around. Mandell has participated in the cheer team for both football and basketball all four years as well as the girls lacrosse team.

Cheer has always held a special place in Emma’s heart, cheering on her classmates since she was in fifth grade at Christ the King Grade School.

Looking back at her high school experience at Saint Joe, cheering on the football players under the lights every Friday night is something very special to Mandell. Being on the sideline in her uniform with the whole student body cheering behind her will be a memory she will have for a lifetime.

Mandell is also a crucial part of the girls lacrosse team. She is a starter on defense and has helped the team this year, creating multiple interceptions a game which has helped the team have a record of 8-2 so far this season. She “loves being around the lacrosse girls because they are like family”.

Mandell’s favorite memory of her high school experience was when the girls lacrosse team beat Northridge in overtime on senior night of her junior year.

Mandell’s advice to underclassmen and incoming Saint Joe High students is to “love for the moment, not the idea of the moment.”

Emma Mandell is planning on attending University of Dayton this fall.
