I’m sure you’ve heard people complain about how boring South Bend is, but with a little searching there are a few gems in the area. Here is a list of fun places to go if you are ever bored on a weekend in South Bend.

Farmer’s Market

The South Bend Farmer’s Market is a great place to go on the weekend for a day! Local vendors bring freshly grown food and unique items that are usually hand-made. It is located at 1105 Northside Blvd. South Bend, INĀ  46615 and is open from 7-2pm on Fridays and 7-3pm on Saturdays.

Fitness Classes at the Gridiron

This summer, starting June 10, there will be free fitness classes at the gridiron (the turf area in front of the old Notre Dame hall of fame). Start off with a relaxing morning doing yoga at 8am. Then groove with zumba at 9am or work out with barre or cardio at 10 am. All are free and welcome to anyone! No sign up needed!

Cloud Walking Coffee

If you are tired of going to the same Starbucks every morning, this cafe is a great alternative. Cloud Walking Coffee has fun coffees and speciality teas that are cheap and delicious! The environment is a great place to get work done after school or catch up with friends on a delayed start. It is located in downtown Mishawaka at 1215 E Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615.

East Race Waterway

Once it gets warmer, rafting and kayaking on the East Race is a fun activity for those looking for adventure. A day pass is only $20 and all equipment is required! To learn more and to buy tickets go to the website https://eastracewaterway.com/#kbyg
