Meg Baxter is a senior at Saint Joe, originally from California. She transferred to Saint Joe before her sophomore year, and since then has been a member of the girl’s varsity soccer, cross country, and track teams.
Moving from California, Baxter learned how to overcome adversity and create a new life. Making new friends, developing new habits, and making a new place feel like home. Since moving to South Bend, Baxter has developed a love for “all the lakes. The tubing, jetskiing, boat days, and dinner feats in a cozy lake house. I had never gone tubing before moving here and I LOOOOVE it.”
After leading her team to semi-state her first year at Saint Joe, she developed a great reputation for herself. Since joining the squad, Baxter has tallied 23 goals and 10 assists, along with being a fixture in the starting lineup. Not surprisingly she was picked , as a captain for her senior year. As captain, she has been a phenomenal leader her soccer team by providing great positivity, and spurring ambitions to go far in the post-season tournament this year.
Her cross-country and track performances are just as impressive as her soccer performances. Similar to soccer, she made it to semi-state her sophomore year and got a personal best of 20:15, which is the sixth-best time in our school’s history, making her cross-country career impressive, and notable. Being a cross-country captain this year, there is no doubt that she will lead the team to success once again.
Meg Baxter is a senior you should keep on your radar. Being an avid Indiana enthusiast, phenomenal athlete, and dedicated student, Baxter will continue to do great things in her time at Saint Joe, and in her life afterward.
