The Boy Varsity Soccer earned a victory on August 22nd with a score of 3-1 against the Trinity Titans. Saint Joe’s first win out of the first 4 games played of the season. Saint Joe’s starting lineup was, Sam Harshman (4) German Gonzalez (5) Sebastian Vogel (6) Emmanuel Ortiz (7) Tony Wang (8) Ethan Vu (9) Kai Lulic (11) Romio Clark (15) Tommy Arce Pintado (16) Murphy Wiginton (23) and as our goalie Andy Yergler (1)

With an intense first half, Trinity maintained much possession of the ball. Within the first two minutes of the game, number 8 from the Titans scored the opening goal of the match. After giving up the first goal, Saint Joe gathered their focus and started taking possession of the ball. With 28 minutes left of the first half, after passing back and forth, Lulic made Saint Joe’s first goal. As Max Sanchez (3) made an attempt to score Saint Joe’s second goal, Trinity puts up an amazing defense and blocks the attempt. Then both teams took a water break for the heat, and as they come back, Sanchez succeeded with his second attempt to score our second goal with 19 Minutes left of the first half.

Midway through the second half, Manny Zamora (14) committed a hard tackle, causing a foul for our team and getting a yellow card for it. Then as we reached the last handful of minutes left in the game, Lulic made the third goal for the team, his second goal of the game. Overall, both teams fought hard and gave it their all, but in the end Saint Joe came out victorious 3-1.
