This year we received quite a few new teachers. In fact, the Theology Department received two new teachers. Mr. Mansfield and Mrs. Matty.
Mrs. Matty attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. She majored in Theology and Catechetics but then later. went Notre Dame and got her Masters Degree in Theology. After graduating she became a seventh and eight grade theology teacher before coming to St. Joe. The reason she chose Theology as her major is because ‘She loves God, learning about Him, and wants to share what she knows about God with her students. Some hobbies she likes to do all ‘board’ sports, if you don’t know what ‘board’ sports are here are a few examples: Snowboarding, wake boarding, skate boarding, suffering etc.
Mr. Mansfield began his teaching career at Saint Marys High School. Teaching there for about twenty years, his family wanted to move to the midwest. So he would then teach four years at Lake Michigan Catholic and then another two years at York Catholic before coming to teach at St. Joe. Mr. Mansfield would come to St. Joe for our good reputation academically and it brought him closer to his family.
With the school year already into the month of September, it seems that both teachers have been adjusting comfortably here at St. Joe and we look forward to what they have to offer over the following years.
