The Saint Joseph science department welcomed four new teachers for the 2023-24 school year. Let’s meet two of them – Mrs. Madison Wohlfert and Mr. Stephen Eytang!
Madason Wohlfert explains why she chose Saint Joseph High, “I chose St. Joe because I was looking to teach at a school closer to home so that way I could send my son to Catholic preschool. I was drawn to St. Joe because the science department made me feel welcome, as well as I felt valued as an educator during the interview process. For my entire life, Saint Joseph himself has always had a special patronage for me—I attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon growing up as well as living in Saint Joseph County. I also attend a different parish now that is still under the patronage of Saint Joseph!”
Wohlfert also has been teaching in the science industry for the past 6 years. Her favorite part about teaching is “being able to easily go and visit Jesus every day!”
Stephen Etyang is also welcomed to Saint Joseph this year. He explains, “I chose Saint Joe because of its culture and christian beliefs in nurturing learners to become all round in society as well as growing spiritually. The programs are amazing and the way everything is run is good. Student discipline is something that is also good to me.”
Etyang has been teaching for the past 11 years and enjoys teaching here because “I like the way the teaching program has been planned. It runs smoothly without any hitches. the lms used for learning is amazing.”
Be sure to say hello to the teachers if you see them in the hall! Don’t be afraid to ask questions and ask for extra help this year.
