Tommy Eck is a senior at Saint Joe High School and is a multi-sport athlete. He plays football on all 3 sides of the ball and is a pitcher on the baseball field.
Eck is like a Swiss army knife of football because he can play almost anywhere on the field at a high level. He plays a variety of positions like H-back, safety, the holder and is also on punt returns. He had the best game of his career against Washington putting up 2 blocked punts, an interception, a 2pt conversion, and several tackles.
When being asked about his success on the field, Eck talked about how hard work is the key to his success. From being able to study new plays being put in, working hard in the weight room, and making the most of every practice. If scouts see this type of ability to play at multiple positions, Eck could get a good chance to play at the next level which he is interested in pursuing.
Eck has not only been a star on the football field but also on the baseball field. Although he enjoys the idea of playing sports at the next level, he hopes to be at a school where he can play both baseball and football if possible. He also has expressed interest in broadcasting sports. If he were not able to play college sports, he would want to broadcast all types of sports.
Eck plans to keep the momentum going as Saint Joe rides a 3-game-winning streak and the playoffs get closer by the week.
