Do you like food? What about fall? Well here’s a list of recipes that are perfect for the chilly fall weather.
First, dessert. Fall desserts stand out from the rest. Pies, and cookies are deliciously fall foods to fill your stomach with(just leave some space for the real meals).
Pies. The three classic fall pies are Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, and Pecan Pie. Whichever one of these is your favorite, there are recipes for all of them. The pie filling isn’t too difficult to make, just follow the recipe and mix some ingredients together, but making a good pie crust can be harder The good news is that all three of these pies can be made with the same type of crust. You can also get store bought crust if you don’t want the pressure of making it from scratch.
Cookies. Any cookies can be fall cookies, but my favorites are Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and Snickerdoodles. Snickerdoodles are also a Christmas time cookie, but the cinnamon pairs well with any cool weather. To make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, all you have to do is substitute the raisins in oatmeal raisin cookies for chocolate chips. Of course you can keep the raisins if you like them.
Now it’s time for the real food. There are many good fall meals, but I’m going to focus on soups and veggies.
Soup. Soup itself is a very fall/winter meal because it warms one up in the chilly weather. There are many varieties of soup of varying difficulty, from broccoli cheddar, to French onion, to classic chicken noodle. Chili is also a good fall food, though you could argue that it is or isn’t a soup. Try adding corn or sweet potatoes to your chili, or making it vegetarian.
Veggies. This one might not be the most predictable, and probably won’t be a main entree, but cooked veggies are a great fall food. Roasted potatoes, carrots, or brussel sprouts are delicious, and sweet potato and corn casseroles are perfect for warming up in the cold weather. It’s also quite easy to make a quick vegetable side to go with your meals. Add some of your favorite seasonings and some oil, and cook them up.
