Yury Pimentel is a driven, dedicated, and smart young woman. Along with these traits, she is a phenomenal friend and student-athlete. Yury is a two-sport varsity athlete, along with being in multiple clubs at Saint Joe. She has dreams and aspirations that will take her to so many different places and has the ability to achieve them.
Pimentel is a varsity volleyball player, specifically the libero. During her time in the volleyball program, she has developed many memories, however, her favorite memory at Saint Joe is “winning the Holy War in volleyball senior year.” Being a key leader to the team, she is a mentor for younger athletes and shows all that hard work can do. Pimentel hopes to play volleyball in college but has yet to decide if that is truly what she wants to do. While she is extremely impactful on the volleyball court, she is just as impactful on the track. Being a varsity track runner, she has achieved multiple titles.
Pimentel is also a great community member. Being part of the student government as Senior Class President, she is also a member of the Ronald McDonald House Club, National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, Aidan’s Masterpiece, Peer Mentors, Right to Life, and Spanish Club. Smart and dedicated, Pimentel fulfills all pillars of Saint Joseph High School: reaching higher, building family, serving with joy, and discovering our gifts.
Pimentel hopes to study biology on a pre-med track after High School and eventually hopes to become a pediatrician. Her heart wants to take her to the Riley Children’s Hospital, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Her grit, love for helping others and always doing the right thing, are what make Pimentel a great athlete, leader, student, and community member.
