Delving into the depths of caves and dungeons, looting the tombs of ancient kings, solving mysterious murders and puzzles, and discovering the wonders that the world holds for you; such a creative and intriguing opportunity can only be found in the tabletop RPG game Dungeons and Dragons.
To many, Dungeons and Dragons seems like a tedious game, many media franchises have always advertised or referenced it as having your nose stuck in a book for hours and constantly looking over numbers and numbers just to move forward. Dungeons and Dragons is not like that at all however. The game is much more interactive and exciting than many let it on to be.
Dungeons and Dragons is a great way to be able to act and express yourself and the focus is much more on the interactions between you and the other players. The game consists of a Dungeon Master who is not the “King Nerd” or someone who just makes up numbers but rather the storyteller; it is their job to guide the players and create a world and story around them. The players are able to interact with this imaginary world with their own characters that they can customize to fit their own personalities or diversify to find new frontiers.
For people who are interested in acting or fantasy this game is an amazing outlet and for those who love to write and create being a Dungeon Master scratches that itch. If anyone is interested in playing, I would highly recommend picking up a book at the library, talking with any students in our very own D&D Club or reaching out to the club moderator Mrs.Shields. Adventure on!
