This volleyball season has definitely been one to remember.
This season was definitely a period of growth for our Saint Joseph volleyball girls. They played strong and determined which you can see in each set their drive to win. Sadly they did not have a perfect season but they definitely had an amazing one. They took down our #1 opponent Marian in 4 sets which was definitely the highlight of the season!
Each girl on the team has gained the ability of teamwork and communication. They all worked hard and played to their best abilities! The freshman and JV teams proved themselves time and time again. And the varsity had a great season as well, although they didn’t win every game they grew as players. They all learned the importance of communication and practice.
They fell short to Culver, Elkhart, Penn, Adams, Marquette, New Prairie, Buchanan, Northridge, and Concord but they didn’t let that stop them from getting better. They had some great victories including against Bremen, Plymouth, Washington, Clay, and most importantly the holy war against Marian.
This may have not been the best season for them, but they learned that winning isn’t what makes a player good, it’s the ability to keep motivation after loss.
These girls worked incredibly hard all season, and they deserve recognition for the hard work they put in. The reactions of their teammates when one another accomplishes something great is inspiring to see; the way these girls support each other. They push one another in a friendly way, they encourage each other to excel. Volleyball is both a mental and physical challenge so it is important to have a good support system.
Good job to these girls for this season! I look forward to seeing them grow even more next season!
