Offset dropped his second studio album “SET IT OFF” and expectations are high. This is Offsets second studio album and his most recent since 2019. The Migos rapper wanted to release his album sooner but delayed the album for a almost a year after his close friend Takeoff passed away last year.
The album is 21 tracks long and a one hour listen. The album features artists like Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future and others. Fans had high expectations for the album and Offset made sure to bring an album that fans would remember.
To start the project Offset had some very good tracks like “Say My Grace” featuring Travis Scott, “Broad Day” featuring Future and “Night Vision.” These top tier tracks made the album more engaging and made me excited for the later tracks. While the first half of the track list is better than the second half the album, the album never felt boring or bland.
The production on the album was near perfect if not perfect. Every instrumental on the project fit well and Offset was on beat for all said tracks. From well known producers like Metro Boomin and Southside it made the project better with the chemistry Offset has with these producers.
While the features and production did their part it can’t be a good album without a good performance from the main artist. And Offset made sure to not disappoint. On this project Offset had a few songs like “Upside Down” where Offset makes a “chill” type of track which he never see Offset do. He decided to experiment a bit on the album and it left fans impressed.
Overall this album never felt too long and there were no songs that I felt like that were skips. SET IT OFF is an album that I could see myself and rap fans to keep listening to for the future and could see people debating this as a top album of the year. Overall I would give this album an 8.7/10. The album is very good but I fell like there are still some projects from this year that are better.
