What is the best way to show one’s true self? It is to open your home to them. This is exactly what Saint Joe is doing this Sunday with the annual Open House.
In this event Saint Joe invites families of 7th and 8th graders in the community to come inside and take a tour of the building led by students. National Honor Society (NHS) and Student Government members are leading tours and went through tour guide training during flex on Monday. Tours will either start on the first floor near the main office, or the second floor at the event entrance and near the student life entrance. Student Government will be managing the former, while the NHS will be managing the latter.
The tours themselves consist of touring around the Math, Science, English, Theology, and Art halls and visiting the gym, cafeteria, commons, and Meagan Bealer Cafe. In each wing teachers are present to answer any lingering questions left by the families. At the end of the tour Saint Joe students take their families to the gym where the co-curricular fair is set up and families can discover all about the Saint Joe community. The fair includes sports, clubs, and academic teams all led by moderators, NHS members, or Student Council members.
This is a great way for prospective students to gain a knowledge base of Saint Joe and build a connection with the school. Tour guides even write a letter after the event to the families they lead to show how much Saint Joe cares.
