Winter is rolling in quickly and so is the cold and flu season. During the winter months, many illnesses start to pick up and spread rapidly. The most common place to catch a cold or the flu is at school. Kids and adults are in school and at work more than they are during the summer months, causing sickness to spread easier.
With winter approaching, people spend more time indoors. When groups of individuals are in enclosed environments there is minimal airflow and germs tend to stick around and spread fast. In order to prevent the spreading of all of these different illnesses, precautions need to be taken.
Washing your hands is one of the most effective ways to prevent getting sick. When you wash your hands with both soap AND water, it lessens the chance of you getting sick. Dirty hands contain germs that stick to them that are not visible to the eye. We sometimes touch our eyes, mouths or noses which are the three main ways sicknesses enter our body.
Another way to to prevent getting sicking is to wash your belongings frequently. Our houses, phones, water bottles, computers..etc hold many germs, so the more we wash them the less chance we have to get sick.
Everyone should take precautions to not get sick so that we can all have a happy and healthy winter season!
