It’s Christmas time again and I have the perfect recommendation for you all.
Dash and Lily is a Netflix original show that came out in 2020. The show is based on the book Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. I have not read the book, so I do not know how the show compares to it, but the show on its own is delightful.
Dash and Lily takes place during the holiday season, following the story of two teeangers who are quite different from each other. Dash hates Christmas, but Lily loves it. The two correspond through a notebook and do dares around New York City that the other person writes for them. As the show progresses, you see the relationship between Dash and Lily change, however they don’t know each other outside of the notebook.
Dash and Lily is my favorite holiday show because of how it channels the Christmas energy. Giant Christmas trees, holiday lights, caroling, and Christmas music feature throughout the whole show, and viewers see different holiday experiences that can be valuable to learn about.
The storyline of the show is very appealing and keeps you on your toes. At its core a romance show, Dash and Lily is lighthearted but also real with excellent plot twists, problems, hilarious moments, and many chances for viewers to relate.
Full of Christmas, romance, and friendship – this is one you can enjoy with your whole family. So if you are looking for something to watch while you hide from the snow this winter, give Dash and Lily a try.
