Fortnite has been a game that has been super popular for nearly six years. With over 500 million players, expectations get higher for every new edition – especially fter notching an all time high in players in November and December from the “OG season.”
After the “Big Bang” event which destroyed the chapter four island, a new island has emerged that includes upgraded guns, mobility and some cool new features like a train which takes you across the map and interesting biomes such as Snotty Steeps.
This newest version features some fantastic gun customization. Most Fortnite players did not expect this to happen as the game is normally very simplistic (in fact, part of why it is so popular). But customizing guns gives players an opportunity to use whatever they want. If they dislike a feature on a weapon, they can change it giving significant individualization to the game – similar to Call of Duty.
Although the changes have made some diehard fans upset, the creators chose to make the game more realistic. Nothing drastic, but many in the community do want it to be changed.
My personal favorite thing about the new season is the new skins. In chapter 5 we will be seeing The Weeknd soon in Fortnite and, most importantly, Peter Griffin. A TV icon and the biggest artist in the world are coming to Fortnite.
Overall I would give the season a 7.5/10. Some pretty cool features but nothing crazy. If you can experience it with your friends I recommend you do.
