The animated TV show “Invincible” on Amazon Prime was created by John Paesano and first aired on March 25, 2021. Still being developed, this show has so far been incredible. Initially, there was not much to the show. Despite a first episode that gave a solid introduction, it seemed like an average superhero show but it was just getting started.
The post credit scene of the first episode may be one of the most gruesome, jaw dropping and attention grabbing scenes in animated television I’ve ever seen. After that I was completely engaged with the show. The storytelling in the show is so alluring and questioning.
After every episode, I thought I knew what was going but then the show would throw something new in there that made rethink the entire show. The ending of the first seasons may be one of the most brutal, gut wrenching, mind blowing climaxes to a show I’ve ever seen. It was a massive cliff hanger as well, leaving me with so many questions.
They all are starting to be answered now that the second season is dropping. So far we have only gotten half of the second season but that half alone is incredible. It was emotional, gruesome, and seemed somewhat hopeless from the beginning all the way up to the very end of the last episode until we see more of how strong,
durable and powerful Mark, the protagonist of the show, truly is and what separates him from not only the people of earth but every living being in that universe. Not to mention, how the title card is uniquely used in every episode as the show’s title and protagonist’s superhero name is “Invincible” and it cues whenever someone says that word. With huge Hollywood voices like: J.K. Simmons, Steven Yeun, Mark Hamill, Khary Payton, and more, if your into superheros, action, comedy and a little bit of horror, I’d highly recommend you go watch “Invincible.”
