This year’s Grammys feature a Best New Artist containing a diverse group of musicians ranging from country to female rappers.
The list of nominees includes Ice Spice, who is possibly the biggest name on this list and is the clear favorite to win the award. She has made such hits as Boy’s a liar pt. 2, Munch, In Ha Mood, and Barbie World for Barbie.
Noah Kahan has seen the tops of charts with many songs and his album Stick Season. Jelly Roll also found himself on the list, who started as a man with a deep criminal record including dealing drugs and was convicted, but then changed during his time spent in prison. His music is distinct due to its clash of country and rap. Grace Abrams increased her profile this past year as an opening act for Taylor Swift. She has also collaborated with fellow nominee Noah Kahan on a remake of Everywhere, Everything off of Kahan’s album.
The War and Treaty collaborated with Zach Bryan on Hey Driver off of Bryan’s self-titled album. Fred Again is a producer who has partnered with Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Camilla Cabello, and Cardi B. Victoria Monet is a songwriter who has written Let Me Love You, Be Alright, and Thank U Next by Ariana Grande.
Winners of this award in the past include Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Megan Thee Stallion.
