This weekend I went to go check out the new Mean Girls movie. The movie is a remake of the original one from 2004. This new movie was listed as a musical, so I was not sure what to expect. In my opinion the movie was mediocre.
I would give it a rate of 6.5/10. I think they did a decent job of portraying the way that teenagers act now, but there were a few things that I felt were cringey. The scene I enjoyed the most was a scene in the cafeteria when Regina George came out and started singing. This scene was very entertaining and iconic.
I did not like some of the songs and dances, especially the one when they were trying to get Cady to like the other boy. I was not really a fan of their outfits because they weren’t realistic to what teenagers wear today. They also did not follow the vibes of the original movie, which was a disappointment.
A funny highlight was when Lindsay Lohan made an appearance near the end of the movie. It was very nostalgic and added a nice touch to the movie. Overall, f you are a die hard Mean Girls fan, I might recommend this movie. If you’re not, you should probably find something else to watch.
