A big congratulations to our February Community Award Winners: Elle Guyton, Gabe Polaniecki, and Ms. Marsh. As we congratulate them let’s take a look at why they became our winners this month.
Elle Guyton is in National Honors Society, Student Ambassador and a member of the girls golf team. As co-president of HOPE Club she led the way to feed the hungry through the Thanksgiving Food Drive. She also collected hats, gloves, etc. for the homeless and sold the purple bracelets earlier this year for Beverly. Not only did she do all of that this year, but last year she helped raised money for the homeless through a Dancing With the Stars event. She is now a key leader in coordinating the Together for the Long Run event, which supports people with disabilities. She is positive, friendly, kind, compassionate, respectful and fun. She gets along well with her peers and she’s one of those people that no one is a stranger to. In the class she’s known to be conscientious, determined and an active participant. She cares about the needs of others and takes initiative to put that concern into action for a resolution.
Gabe Polaniecki is involved in Peer Ministry, Right to Life club, and is a member of both cross country and track. He is responsible, helpful, and 100% committed to everything he does. In class he is focused, works hard, is willing to share opinions and have a very determined attitude, as if nothing is impossible. He is also highly involved in doing service. Beyond this, he is someone who lives his faith with conviction and he’s such a good example of virtue for others. He lives out his call to discipleship in sincere ways everyday.
Last but certainly not least, Ms. Marsh is in her second year at Saint Joe. She is known widely to be nice, funny, helpful, and a great person to talk to when walking the halls. She helps students at their low points, both in school and in life, and she always makes an effort to check up on students. She greets other with a smile and can be firm and friendly while holding students accountable to following the rules in an understanding matter. She also pitches in with various efforts like Faculty/Staff lunch or decorating for Homecoming.
