The Thundermans Return is a new movie that just came out on March 7th. It is a sequel to the popular Nickelodeon TV series The Thundermans.
The Thundermans is an American comedy series that was initially released in 2013. The show follows the lives of a family with superpowers who gave up fighting crime to live a normal life in a town called Hiddenville. When they moved to a new town, they had to learn to keep their powers a secret. In the final episode of the show, the family decides they would rather go back to a life of fighting crime, so they move out of town to become superheroes again.
In the movie sequel, the family is sent back to Hiddenville after a save goes wrong. They were forced to go back to hiding their powers and living a normal life. While most of the family was excited about this change, twins Max and Phoebe were determined to regain their superhero status.
The movie has an 82% audience score on rotten tomatoes. I would rate it an 8 out of 10. The main thing that bothered me was the CGI. It wasn’t very good, but it didn’t stop the rest of the movie from being great. Some people like the CGI because it brings them a nostalgic feeling since the CGI in the original show was pretty bad. One reviewer said, “It feels like the original show, and I think that’s what they were aiming for.”
The new costumes looked nice. I believe they added just enough change to make things exciting. I’m glad they kept all of the original cast members from the TV series.
The plot of the movie seemed a bit rushed, but I didn’t mind. If you like lengthy movies with strong plots, this may not be the movie for you. The movie also ended on a cliffhanger, which could lead to another sequel. Some people are excited for this. I am not really a fan of this idea because I don’t want to wait over 5 years for a movie with bad CGI and a rushed plot. I do think they could have done a little better, given the amount of time they had. Since I was a fan of the original series, I’d still rate the movie an 8 out of 10. If you weren’t a fan of the TV series or didn’t watch it, you may not like this movie.
