Starting in 1993 a game called Bill Walsh College football was released and from there a string a games soon changed to the name of NCAA Football and was a fan favorite of the sports and gaming community until in 2013 EA (Electronic Arts) settled a lawsuit with college football athletes who argued their name, image, and likeness without permission or being paid. During this time NIL was not allowed for college athletes so NCAA football 14 was the last one made. After a few years there was silence from EA and anyone in the college football scene about a comeback for the series. This caused NCAA 14 to become a rare treasure and to this day goes for around 200-300$ for a copy.

In February of 2021 there was a tweet sent out by EA that quoted “For those who never stopped believing… College Football is coming back” and as most know the NIL deal was settled and players in the NCAA can profit of their image and likeness. After this the glimmer of hope that we would soon receive a new NCAA game was starting to dwindle as each college football season approached and as no game was announced but in February of 2024 EA announced the next game in the series “EA Sports College Football 25” with this announcement a trailer was posted ( *)

Fans of the series are extremely excited for this game but some are superstitious it is going to have a Madden feel which is also made by EA which has received some flack for the past years for becoming a worse and worse game as the years go by but EA has stated that the game is not going to be like Madden. I know personally as a family with 5 boys words don’t describe how excited my brothers and I are for this game and to play online franchise against each other.
