Vivian Glavich is a two sport student athlete whilst being dedicated to the FBLA club, and only being in her sophomore year. The two sports include track and cheer. A little background information on Vivian is she is 15 years old and she was actually born in Chicago, IL.
Glavich joined the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) club in the beginning of her sophomore year and has worked in the cafe throughout the year. During the weekend of March 15-17, she and about 18 other members of FBLA took a trip to Muncie, Indiana for a business conference. This conference consisted of different tests and presentations per topic. Her group chose the topics Business Journalism, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. She took two tests for entrepreneurship and marketing, and completed presentations for all three topics. They placed 2nd for business journalism.
She explains, “I enjoy this club because I get to spend time with my friends while learning the behind the scenes of running a business. Because I want to study business and eventually start my own business once I leave high school, this is a very good club for me.”
Glavich joined track her freshman year and she’s continuing to do it sophomore year. She says she will most likely participate in track during all four years of high school. She states, “I don’t necessarily love running, nor am I the best at it, but I have made so many friends through this sport and it keeps me in shape.”
Glavich goes to practice every weekday and Saturday during the season, when she doesn’t have to work after school. She says it is a lot to balance her school/extracurricular life from my work life but she make it happen. The key, she says, is time management. Once she got into the rhythm of knowing when to do her homework, while also giving herself time to rest, this allowed her to excel not only as a student but as an employee as well. Glavich is a prime example of anything is possible if you make it possible.
