Notre Dame does many things, everything from national level Football to Cancer Research to summer camps for highschoolers. But one of their newest projects is a new musical written by the Program Director of the Center for Liturgy Carolyn Pirtle. This new musical is called Behold God’s Love for You. The premise of the musical is that it is broken into three sections or acts (called a triptych) each following a different aspect of the Sacred Sacrament of the Eucharist’s history and its connections to the three main aspects of the Scripture. This makes it different than most musicals that typically will have two acts. And puts it more in line with non musical plays that typically have three main parts. This choice sets it apart from other musicals which is perfectly on theme due of the consecrated nature of its subject.

Auditions for those living in South Bend have just been wrapped up on March 25th so the beginning stages of production should be beginning sometime soon. This will be a wonderful experience for all of those involved and will more importantly bring those that view the performances deeper into their faith. From the parts of the musical that have been allowed for others to view the music is incredibly well written and the story is incredibly engaging.

This musical is easily a must see for anyone with a love of Christ or is a lover of musical Theater. There will be more information on the productions premiere date and location.
