Many student-athletes have expressed difficulty with learning how to manage time while their sport is in season or when they are gearing up for the season. Time management is not a skill that often comes easy to many, especially underclassmen as they are just going through everything for the first time.
After speaking with several upperclassmen athletes, they have shared some of their favorite tips and tricks to stay on top of their game both academically and athletically.
Junior softball player Alexis Marscola shares that she enjoys working to complete assignments with teammates to ensure everyone completes their work on time. Senior softball player Carly Bryant says that she strives to get as much work done during school as she can so that she doesn’t feel stressed during practices or games.
Senior tennis player Molly Bellia says that she plans out all of the tasks she wants to do for the day in both athletics and academics and makes sure she crosses all of them off throughout the day. Senior tennis player Grace Scicchitano shares that she strives to complete all of her projects and assignments early so that she doesn’t have to focus on doing them when they have big tournaments or games.
These are just a few of the many effective ways to manage time. Overall, some of the best things you can do are, ask for help when it is needed, complete assignments on time to avoid getting behind, and most importantly, figure out what works best for you!
Happy studying!
