Brady Farrell is a senior here at Saint Joseph High School. He is known as a really outgoing nice and funny guy who can bring a smile to anybody’s face. However, behind that million dollar smile and curly hair is a star athlete who shines on the track.
Farrell has been a four year football player and was a wrestler in his younger years at St. Joe. He was a great piece for the St. Joe defense as a corner in the secondary for the Huskies this year as well as a good running back his junior year. However with the football season done, he has taken his talents to the track team.
Farrell is a pole vaulter. Yes he is crazy enough to launch himself high up into the air on a flimsy pole, and he is pretty good at it to. Last year he started his pole vaulting and has a pretty good year with his best vault being at 12’6. This year he has already passed that by a foot and has already hit a personal best at 13’6. He was able to place 12th at the indoor state championships for pole vaulting and feels he still has a lot left to do.
Farrell says, “I just want to keep improving throughout the season and really be able to get to my absolute best I can.” Last meet against Clay Farrell was able to come in first place with a vault of 12. If you get a chance at a track meet, watch these gravity defying vaults and be sure to give Brady a cheer.
