We all love to be outside and explore. And we all love our National Parks. From Yellowstone to Acadia to the Dry Tortugas, there are a wide variety of parks to choose from. No two parks are the same. Yet this can make it challenging to decide which parks to go to. So, if you are stuck in a pickle, here’s some inspiration for which parks to pick!
- Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone was the first official National Park, making it one of the most popular and well known parks. However, this does not take away from the natural beauty and mystical aura of the place. Yellowstone has the widest variety of naturally occurring attractions. From the prismatic springs to mountains to the canyons to the mud springs, Yellowstone has it all.
- Badlands National Park. Badlands, lying in western South Dakota, is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The odd mixture of granite hills and rocky cliffs makes for scenic views, beautiful sunsets, and endless climbing routes. It is a whiles away being in western South Dakota, but you can make the most of your trip and stop by the nearby Mount Rushmore while you are at it!
- Great Smokey Mountains National Park. This park, located in Eastern Tennessee and Western Carolina, showcases the best that the Appalachian Mountain Range has to offer. Beautiful mountain ridges, creeks, and rivers make for an amazing time. Plus, there is always a dull haze/smoke hanging over the mountain ridges (hence the “Great Smokeys”), making for even more spectacular views.
Now, these are just 3 of the many, many National Parks available here in our country we call home. You can’t go wrong with these parks, but you also can’t go wrong with any of them. These are just some of my favorite. So get out there and be adventurous St. Joe!
