On May 10th, 2024, Together for the Long Run is pairing with Logan to put on a track meet here at Saint Joseph High School filled with many different running and field events. This will be the first time, since before covid, that Together for the Long Run has hosted an event. The event will take place from 6pm to 9pm and you can sign up on Together for the Long Run’s page.
When you sign up you can choose between all the options of jobs. In total, there are 13 options for way to help out at the event. For example, you could be a paired athlete where you and a client are paired up and you do every event with him/her. Another example is a cheerleader. These participants do exactly what you would expect, they cheer on all the athletes as they compete and do the provided activities. My final example of job options at this event is arts and crafts. At this station the workers might be helping athletes make bracelets or painting or some artistic activity.
At the beginning of the event, there will be a zumba session lead by Mrs. Kimmie Troy. At this portion of the night, Mrs. Troy will lead everyone in a two song warmup to get everyone’s muscles nice and warm. Mark your calendars for May 10th and show out to the event! Because not only will this event count as service hours for Saint Joe students, but this experience will be unforgettable and awesome!
