The devastating war in the Middle East has caught attention from almost every country around the world. October 7, Hamas sent a military campaign attack on Israel near the areas by the Gaza Strip. Very soon after the Hamas invasion on Israel land, they declared war on Gaza. The Israeli forces have been overwhelming the people in Gaza by bombarded them with missiles and artillery attacks. They have taken the lives of over twenty five thousand people, many of those being children. Israel claims their objective in the war is to simply put an end to Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip. However, many believe their tactics are too harsh and are causing too much harm to innocent civilian villages.
America continues to aid the countries in the war. The military is sending warships and military aircraft to the Israeli forces. They are helping Israel with many supplies, along with a lot of money. This has brought a divide in the American population. About thirty six percent are in favor of our support to the Israeli forces. Thirty four percent, however, are against the aid. This contradicts with the population’s views on helping the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Fifty percent favor the idea of sending help for the Palestinian people fighting against the Israeli forces. America, of course, supports the humanitarian aid in Gaza as it evaluates next steps in this thorny situation.
