I recently finished the second season of Robert Kirkman’s Invincible and now I see, the story was only just beginning with season one. Season one was made to give us a peak of what was to come and season two was made to set up the future of the show, which I myself and many others cannot wait to see.
This second season was incredible. We see more of what Mark, or Invincible, is capable of, and not only that but how much stronger he is going to be, or has to be, if he has any hopes of defeating what is yet to come. This is something I also loved about this second season compared to the first season. We got a taste of what was out there and then in this second season we actually get to see what is out there, and what is coming.
The production of this season was split into two halves, the first being episodes 1-4 first aired on November 7, 2023 and the second being episodes 5-8 first aired on March 14, 2024. Since this show is of incredibly quality in terms of the animations, the voice actors, storyline, and similarity to the comics, it takes time to replicate what is on the pages in motion picture. Kirkman mentioned that other shows have these similar kinds of breaks in between shows to help build suspense and allow viewers to comprehend fully what it is that they have just seen because believe me it is a lot.
Although I hate to admit it, I do believe the break was worth having because this is only just the beginning of an amazing story. And with these breaks, animators are able to work more on future episodes for future seasons to help shorten the gap between upcoming seasons. So all I can say is I am very intrigued to see what Robert Kirkman has in store for us.
