Sophomore Dallas Downey is a dual sport athlete, playing wide received on the Varsity football squad and outfield on the baseball team.
Downey says he enjoys playing outfield because he gets to keep the ball in front while catching fly balls and throw someone out with his arm. He enjoys playing wide receiver because he likes catching passes from the quarterback. He enjoys pasta team dinners with both teams but he enjoys baseball more. His favorite memory of baseball was when he was younger his 13u travel team in general but a more personalized memory was going to Cedar point with his teammates. His favorite football memory was his 2nd grade flag football team where they never lost a game. Playing flag football encouraged him to play in high school.
Downey stays motivated during the off seasons by continuing to practice, working hard to maintain his conditioning. In the football world his favorite player is Tom Brady because he is a great athlete and a great role model on and off the field, but he also enjoys Lebron James because he is a very good role model for young athletes. His favorite baseball player is Jayce Lee, a local teammate. His favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees and said his favorite football team is any team Tom Brady has played on.
