Jack Helm is a senior captain for the boys Saint Joe lacrosse team, and he is a member of NHS and a student government representative. Jack plays offense for his lacrosse team and he describes his season as, “It is nice coming together with the boys and bonding as a team. I am excited to see how we improve throughout the season since we had a rocky start. The team is young so I am confident that the team will continue to improve.”
For college, Jack Helm is between University of North Carolina, which is in Chapel Hill North Carolina, and Notre Dame, which is right down the street from Saint Joseph High School. Jack Helm is a Saint Joe Scholar. Helm recounts his high school days as a “time to be alive, would not change a single thing.”
His favorite and most influential teacher is Mr. K, his theology teacher. “Mr. K always brings fun and excitement to class, and he continually keeps students engaged with his hands on teaching style,” says Helm.
Finally, Jack Helm has learned quite a lot throughout his years at Saint Joe and has some advice for the underclassman and incoming students. Tip number one: do not be like a bump on a log, join clubs and sports that you have even a little interest in because things like clubs and sports can lead you to friends you never thought you would have had. Tip number two: not only is completing the semester strong important, but starting the semester strong is equally as important. The final tip is even though people say junior year is the most important, freshman and sophomore year decipher how hard your junior year has to be. Work hard from the beginning! Have a great day Saint Joe!!
