Saint Joe’s Girls Tennis Team had a match last night at and against Culver Academy. Overall, they won 4-1, while winning the majority of their matches, and only losing two matches in doubles. Each of these doubles matches still went to three sets, so it was a close game!
Unfortunately, the team had to play inside due to poor weather conditions, which were full of rain and storms, however the match was still great because the Junior Varsity team also got the chance to play against a great rival. In addition, Molly Bellia won 6-1 and 6-2, and some doubles on the team that played well were Dani Graham and Libby Yergler and Grace Scicchitano and Anna Walsh. L
astly, Dani Graham had an outstanding game last night and beat her opponent 6-0 and 6-1. A quote from Graham midseason uplifts her team and focuses on the bright future they have. She says, “I’m really excited for the team this year as we keep playing tough competition these next couple weeks in preparation for the state tournament. It is extremely exciting to go into our next matches ranked as the number one team in the state! We do have lots to live up to as a team, but we are one hundred percent ready to keep going.”
After the Culver match last night, their team record is 7-1, which is a great score to have after many hard wins, and many more to come!
