Senior Holden Hardisty gives us a little insight into being a student athlete. Holden has been on the baseball team all four years of high school and enjoys playing the sport.
He plays first base which he enjoys because he gets in on all the action and is always in the play. His favorite thing about baseball is all the friendships he has made and loves his teammates as well as bonding with the coaches. His favorite memory of baseball is winning sectionals his sophomore year, because he bonded with those graduating seniors. His favorite player is Mike Trout and his favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. His favorite memories growing up was being able to watch the Cubs play.
Holden says he maintains his academics by not procrastinating, instead doing his homework during flex or study halls after school. Holden likes to study for his tests on the weekends and looks ahead on canvas to see if he has any upcoming tests, quizzes or any assignments. He takes advantage of the days he does not have practice to get his homework done as soon as possible. He studies for his tests and quizzes on the weekends and tries to stay ahead of the homework load. He is planning on continuing his study at Indiana University and majoring in Business.
Holdens biggest struggle in baseball was when he broke his fibula and tore ligaments in his ankle so recovering before his junior year season was a big struggle.
Hardisty enjoys pasta parties with the baseball team because it creates stronger bonds with the team. He is very excited for this spring season.
