Imagine your senior year you decide to take a plunge into a different high school, not knowing many people there other than the one or two connections that brought you, taking all new classes, and trying to become familiar with new halls. I would be a nervous wreck!
However, Zeta Nunemaker- a transfer from Bremen High School- came to Saint Joseph her senior year and immediately blended in. She joined the girl’s soccer team and began practices over the summer helping make her conversion to a new high school smooth, starting off on the right foot.
Nunemaker is also involved in track and field but was not released to run for their Varsity squad sadly. However, this has not stopped her from enjoying the experience to the fullest. Nunemaker says, “Joining sports has improved my experience because I’ve met so many great people I would’ve never met. It has broadened my experience with coaches and the dynamics between different teams.”
We all know those people that we become so close with during sports seasons that we tend to fall off with out of season, but those are sometimes the people we cherish most! Nunemaker was forced, through sports, to go out of her comfort zone and meet new people during her workouts and practices, but in the end, this only enhanced her time here at Saint Joe. Nunemaker says that “[her] experience at St. Joe has been so good, [she’s] made so many great relationships and met so many new people! [She] loves the teachers and the school!”
Nunemaker was drawn to Saint Joe by people she had already known at Saint Joe, but she is graduating with experiencing so much more.
