With a 51-point lead over Riley in second place, the Saint Joseph boys easily won the team track championship at the at the City Meet. The Huskies’ junior Jack Moran (400 meters), senior Luke Kaufhold (110 and 300 meters hurdles), the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams, junior TJ McBride (high jump, 5-08 feet), junior Ji’Lahni Kearse (discus throw, 135-07 feet), and Brady Farrell Beating a school record of 14-03.
The margin was narrower for the girls track team. Saint Joe defeated Adams by three points. In the last two years, Adams has defeated Saint Joe by a slim score; in 2021, Saint Joseph defeated Adams by a small amount. The girls won thanks to a well-rounded effort. Saint Joe finished in the top three in 13 of the 16 competitions, despite only winning three events (Lauren Frick in the 800-meter race, Maddi Crowley in the discus throw, and the 4×800 relay). Freshman Richard Halliburt came in third at 11.13 for the boys 100-meter dash. In the 4×100-meter relay, Halliburton hawked down, winning the last leg for the Huskies by 0.06 seconds over Nabieu and Riley.
