It’s Time for Quiz Bowl!
October 25, 2020
COVID-19 has caused many of our school’s teams to adapt to a new format and Quiz Bowl is no exception. I caught up with the team to see how everything is working out.
Quiz Bowl, one of the top performing teams ever at Saint Joe, is a trivia based competition that competes both regionally and nationally. Due to COVID restrictions, these competitions are now being hosted in an online format. Competitors are given a question and must type in the answer as quickly as possible. For the time being, traveling to other schools seems to be off the table. Mr. Dillon, Quiz Bowl’s fearless moderator, looks to the rest of the season with optimism. It is the prediction of Dillon that the team will be back to competing in person in January, if all goes well. For now, he remarks that the team has adapted swiftly to the online format. It sure looks like this will be a season to remember.
There was a great turn out for this year’s Quiz Bowl placement test, but it’s still not too late to join! Everyone is welcome and appreciated. Any underclassmen wanting to learn something new or have fun playing trivia with friends are highly encouraged to check out Quiz Bowl. Meetings are held in Mr. Dillon’s room right after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays so stop by on any one of them to see Quiz Bowl in action.
