Over the weekend I watched the movie, Longlegs that came out in May. Longlegs is a crime, thriller, and horror movie. I personally liked it but it doesn’t really give horror movie vibes until the end.
Longlegs is a movie set in the 90’s about a detective who is on the search for a serial killer(Longlegs) that has been on the run since the 70’s. There has been a lot of controversy about whether the movie is good or not. in my opinion, it’s not the best horror movie but it is a really good crime thriller and at times its really disturbing.
A lot of the disturbing and weird parts are when the killer, Longlegs is on screen. That was also most of the reason why the movie at some times was hard to take serious. Every time he was on screen he was either singing or screaming, or doing some other ridiculous thing that would leave you either weirded out or laughing.
There are a few good jump scares but that’s really all the horror in it until in the last 20 minutes where the plot twist is revealed. I really liked the plot twist, but it really wasn’t that shocking and I had been expecting it throughout the whole movie. Though the movie as a whole was good, I’d rate the movie a 7/10, mostly because i went in expecting a horror movie and ended up watching a crime movie with jump scares.
