This month is the 15th anniversary of Coraline being produced. With this being the 15th anniversary, LAIKA studios has brought back Coraline in remastered 3D to the theaters! A movie being remastered means that they use modern technology to create a higher quality audio and video then before. Coraline is a stop-motion movie, meaning they take pictures of every small movement a character (LAIKA uses clayed characters) makes and putting all the pictures together creating a fluent video.
Watching Coraline in the remastered 3D version is definitely something to go watch if you love LAIKA studio movies. The attention to detail that was put into this movie was amazing, as their were specific details you wouldn’t notice in the original Coraline made back in 2009. As well as watching this movie in 3D, creates a new value to it as it inserts different aspects to the movie, that we haven’t seen before. If you are a big Coraline fan, then I definitely recommend staying till the end of the movie to watch the end credits of how the remastered version of Coraline was made.
Overall if you are a big Coraline fan then I definitely recommend watching it as it brings a new perspective to the original movie, but if you are expecting a brand new Coraline movie then this might not be something you would want to watch.
