Love Island USA is the number one streaming reality show in the United States across all platforms!
If you are clueless about what Love Island is, it is a reality show on Peacock where 10 people are put on an island stranded from reality to find love. Quickly as the episodes progress, people are voted out, new people show up to stir the pot, and the relationships the contestants have made in the villa (the island they live on) are put to the test. The couple with the “strongest connection,” according to America’s votes, by the end of the show wins $100,000 to split between each other. There are multiple Love Island shows in different countries but the one that has recently sky rocketed was Love Island USA. The show has been around since July 9, 2019 when they first aired season one but, the new season, season six was their best season so far.
So, what sets season six apart from the other seasons of Love Island USA? Well, as someone who has seen the other seasons of the show I can confidently say that I have never seen such strong sisterhood in any other season. It is hard to make well built friendships in a show where you are constantly put in situations where you must betray people to stay in the show. But, even in these circumstances, three woman islanders were able to make solid friendships with one another. Their names are Serena Page, Leah Kateb and JaNa Craig (in order of the photo below) and they have all impacted women across the board who struggle to understand their own worth in friendships and relationships. What people loved about these girls is that they were all honest and real with each other and the other contestants on the show. They all had each others back vigorously and made the season more enjoyable to watch.
Aside from their beautiful friendship, the new season has attracted so many new viewers because of the couples. I will not get into too much detail to avoid spoilers but, the fans are loving how natural the cast acts in the villa. The contestants have mentioned in many interviews that they forget that there are cameras recording them 24/7. Liv Walker and Kaylor Martin, Love Island contestants, have said in the Chicks in the Office podcast that they both forgot there were being recorded for a national television show. It is common for the cast in past seasons being fake for the camera which is normal for reality shows but, it is very refreshing to see a cast that can forget about the cameras for a second and be themselves.
