The boys tennis team traveled to Chesterton to compete in the Crown Point invitational. They placed second in the tournament with 1 singles, 2 singles, and 1 doubles making it to the semi-finals and 3 singles and 2 doubles making it to the finals.
1 singles, Jacob Hix, fell to Zionsville’s 1 singles 6-3, 6-3. 2 singles, Oliver Hix, fell to Zionsville’s 2 singles after a tough battle 7-5, 6-7 (10-8), 10-8. Oliver fought back down 2-5 in the first set, but ended up losing both close sets in tiebreakers. 1 doubles, Nick Nguyen and Jake Westberry, also fell to Zionsville 4-6, 3-6 it was a hard fought match but the boys could not pull it out. Number 3 singles, Ben Brady, made the finals and faced off against Zionsville, but fell with a score of 2-6, 4-6. 2 doubles, Cornmac Kennedy and Jack Mattison, also faced off against Zionsville in the finals, but fell with a score of 2-6, 3-6. The boys total ended up finishing second in the tournament, taking home silver.
The boys travel to Homestead this weekend to take on Homestead they look to improve to 8-0 on the season with the win against Homestead. The JV boys tennis team travels to Elkhart to compete in the Elkhart Central invite. Make sure to show up to some of the boys home games and support them.
