Recently, I listened to Rex Orange County’s new album, “The Alexander Technique”. The album was released September 6th and has 16 songs. Rex Orange County is a British Artist that makes Alternative/Indie music.

I’ve listened to a lot of Rex orange County’s previous songs and really liked them, but this playlist could have been A LOT better. There were only about four songs that I actually liked in this album out of the 16. It’s a lot of slow, mellow, kind of sad songs in this album so that may be why it’s not my cup of tea.

A handful of the songs remind me of the type of music that would go viral in like 2020, so I think his lack of album releases caused him to not have any chance to adjust to his current audience. My favorite songs out of them all were “Sliding Doors” and “One of These Days.” I feel like those were 2 of the more upbeat songs.

For me to like a song, a really important thing is the artists voice, and even though the songs and lyrics weren’t the best in this album, his voice was really good in most of the album. My least favorite song on this album was “Much Too Much.” It wasn’t bad at all, the beat just kept throwing me off but I really like the end and the singing.

Altogether this album was alright, but I’m more of a fan of his earlier albums. I rate this album a 6/10.
