September 22nd which is just under a week away marks the beginning of fall – which means we say goodbye to summer of the year 2024. With fall arriving, it means that we are shifting into a very busy, packed, and fun time of the year, especially here in South Bend and its surrounding areas. There are many things to do, with both family and friends.
If you are looking for something fresh then why don’t you head down to a farmer’s market? There local small businesses can be found selling products that are produced right here in Northern Indiana. With fall starting, we can see many seasonal products and crops begin to pop up. Some notable markets in this area include the Mishawaka Farmers Market which opens at 10:00am on Sunday at the Mishawaka RiverWalk. Another is the South Bend Farmers Market located at 1105 Northside Blvd just east of the river which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Perhaps if you want to have some fall fun, you can go to one of the local farms that is located in our area. You have Thistleberry Farms located southwest of downtown South Bend at 61391 Mayflower Rd where you and family or friends can have fun, get lost in a corn maze, and so much more. You can also go up north to A-mazing Acres in Edwardsburg at 18430 US-12 where you can see barnyard animals, go down a slide or even pick out your pumpkin for Halloween this year. Speaking of Halloween, our area has a ton of fun activities for this spooky season! If you and your friends want a frightening experience, then you can go to the two horror parks our area has to offer. These are both some of the largest scream parks in the country! Whether it be Niles Scream Park located at 855 Mayflower Rd or Legend Park in Mishawaka at 14130 McKinley Hwy. You are sure to have a spooky experience.
Our area has many cool things to do as we begin this fall, so grab your friends or family. Maybe buy some apples, pick out a pumpkin or visit a haunted house. Just make sure you have a fun fall Saint Joe!
