This year’s diaper drive took place on Thursday, October 3, during flex. The Diaper Drive is a long lasting tradition at St. Joe that the Right to Life club organizes once a year to help support the Women’s Care center.
The Diaper Drive is an event held at St. Joe annually, and has become a very good way to help the community. Each student is able to bring in a pack of diapers or baby wipes. During flex, students form a human chain to pass the diapers from the school all the way down to the Women’s care center, where all the diapers are donated to.
According to the Women’s Care Center, they “provide free, confidential counseling, support and education for pregnant women.” The Women’s Care Center is a very important organization in our community and serves thousands of women in our area.
Besides the fact that bringing in diapers for mothers in need is a corporal work of mercy, students were rewarded by having a dress down day if they brought in a pack of diapers or a pack of baby wipes.
This year the community donated over 26,000 diapers and nearly 7,000 wipes for babies in need thanks to the generosity of students and staff members.
