Piece By Piece is an animated lego movie talking about the life of the one and only Pharrell Williams. The movie/documentary piece by piece is an animated and narrated documentary about Pharrell Williams. Piece by Piece is a way  that Pharrell said he was able to express his full self and his imagination. There are a lot of rappers and singers in this movie such as Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dog, and of course Pharrell Williams. There are different songs in it such as “Happy” and “We gone be alright.”

Piece by Piece starts off with Pharrell William talking to the interviewer as himself and then it changes to lego pieces. Pharrell talks about his early childhood and how he lived in Virginia, and also how he lived in a crash zone. He said that he was able to see the Blue Angles fly around all the time. Pharrell talks about how he was a weird child and how he saw colors when music played specifically Stevie Wonders music. He talks about how he met this kid named Chad Hugo and together they made the Neptunes. Around a quarter of the movie talks about how Pharrell and Chad make the Neptunes popular. After that it talks about how Pharrell tries to get by on his own after the Neptunes broke up. He talks about how he made more beats for people like Justin Timberlake and Snoop Dog. Then Pharrell started making his own music.

After that he talks about how his grandmother died and he also talks about inspirational she was to hm and how influential she was when he started his career. The he talks about his “dump” where he was making sounds and beats and songs but they just were not good enough. Then it shows him spending time with his son and then he makes the song “Happy.” Pharrell said that he loves the song so much because a lot of people could relate to it since they had been through it. He said that people kept sending him messages and letters from everywhere talking about how his song helped them through stuff. One person sent him a letter talking about how his song helped their mom get through chemo-therapy. Then he makes another group, after that it goes to a stage/concert where he is singing Piece By Piece which is also the name of the movie.

Over all this was more of a documentary than a movie, but it’s nice to see how people can help so many others through songs and beats. It’s also. nice to know the origins of the famous singer and producer Pharrell Williams.
