During the All Saints Day Retreat, Poetry Club held three sessions of Coffee Houses during the lunch periods. Students enjoyed Mrs Barca’s room set up with cozy lighting and relaxing atmosphere for a nice break from the day. Not only did we enjoy hot chocolate and some halloween candy but we also got to share some poetry. Students looked further into some classic professional poetry and were encouraged to share a piece picked out by them and why it resonated with them. Some students shared original poetry. But it was overall a successful dive into a safe creative space.
Every two weeks, we dive into the world of poetry, exploring different forms and styles. Each meeting brings new prompts to spark your creativity, offering a supportive space for everyone to learn and share. Receive feedback and encouragement from fellow poetry lovers! Our meetings are held in Mrs Barca’s room usually after school from 3:15-4:15. This is a low commitment club so come out whenever you feel like collaborating in a safe creative space.
Want to see your poetry in print? Submit your work for a chance to be featured in The Square, our school’s news article. We’ll also help you enter poetry contests where you can win money for your creative efforts!
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to express yourself, grow as a writer, and be part of a thoughtful and creative community.
