Throughout this offseason the Huskies have worked very hard to improve as a team. During the summer the Huskies went through Dawg Week. This week is filled with just conditioning and grit in order for the coaches to see who really wanted it. This really showed a lot of what the younger competition could do and how they could make an impact in the future. Coming off a state runner up finish, Coach Eric Gaff seeks to be in that situation again but with a different outcome. In order to accomplish that, he has trained his players very hard to push them to the next level.
The basketball team as a whole resembles the school: hardwork, determination, and grit. We saw this in the summer when the Varsity went off to one of the most challenging leagues in northern Indiana, The Charlie Hughes Camp. This camp was filled with very high level competition and even with a new roster the Huskies remained undefeated during the whole tournament going 4-0 to keep their name as still one of the best teams in Indiana.
This preseason went overall really well in favor for the Huskies and they plan to have an amazing season and hopefully they make the same run that they did last season, and as one of the top teams in Indiana they are one of the favorites to take the trophy this year. Make sure to watch the Huskies first game early November and make sure to cheer them on in the student section!
