Squid games is a South Korean survival show that went global in 2021. This game is played amongst many Koreans that are in debt or need of money in order to survive. At the time this was Netflix’s most watched show and still is one of the most watched today. Squid games is a drama based event that most people find odd or strange. The prize to winning this game is a huge life changing amount of money but if you don’t win, your prize is death.
The game holds 456 recipients that are all in severe need or debt and invited to play children’s games but little do they know it has a deadly twist. The moment you lose one of the games, your life is taken from you. As the game progresses the prize money increases for whomever will win the game. Although there is a rule that after each game all of the participants can vote to stay or leave the game if the majority votes to leave the game the money will be divided equally to each participant and all will be released.
The “higher ups” believe that they’re doing the participants a good deed by giving them an opportunity to change their life around while they were at that point in their life where they had no hope and at the lowest point in their life. There are really no age requirements for this game but all are adults from young to elders and female and male.
In my opinion this is definitely one of the best shows out at the moment and will be for a while. This is one of my favorites because it was always interesting and had me waiting for the next big event to happen. Also, many of the characters were smart and unique in their own way. Lastly, the way that season two ended was in a way that viewers almost have to come back and watch.
