Last Wednesday, Saint Joe’s Right To Life Club participated in the March For Life in Indianapolis. The march is an annual event held in every state, where thousands of people come together and march to the steps of the capitol. They march to show their support of the dignity of every person, and to protest abortion.
Before going on the march, the Right to Life Club went to the convention center and joined many other youth who were also going on the march. They went to a mass for the march, which was celebrated by multiple bishops and the arch bishop of Indiana, and went to confession. In addition, they heard talks from many speakers about their faith journeys and the sanctity of life. One of the members of the Saint Joe Right to Life Club, Reyna Santos-Martinez, gave a witness talk in front of everybody there!
Once the rally was over, everybody participating in the march gathered together and began to march towards the capitol, holding signs and chanting things like “all life is sacred.” The march lasted around 20-30 minutes, starting near Lucas Oil Stadium and ending at the capitol.
After marching to the capitol, the marchers gathered on its front lawn, and many state leaders, including governor Mike Braun, gave speeches promising to protect life in all of its stages. They showed how Indiana is leading the way in the issue of life, especially on abortion. Indiana became the first state to ban abortion following the overturning of Roe v Wade.
